Eagle Creek Reservoir
The best place to sail in Indy. The launch is at the Eagle Creek Park boat launch just north of Rick's Restaurant. Best on a southwest or north wind. West wind can be very gusty. East is gusty and offshore.
Bass Lake
Decent sailing 2 hours north of Indy.
Lake Maxinkuckee
Decent sailing 2 hours north of Indy.
St. Joseph, MI
For Lake Michigan, Silver Beach is a good spot on a north or northwest wind. On a south wind, Tiscornia is a better launch.
The Big Lake can really get cranking with big waves on norther. But beware, it can be dead calm here on a hot summer day when it's windy further inland.
Clinton Lake, IL
Conveniently heated by a nuclear power plant, Clinton Lake is your best bet for winter sailing.
